Overview
The Grinnell Farmers Market, organized by the Grinnell Area Chamber of Commerce and presented by Grinnell Mutual, is opening on Thursday, May 14! The local Grinnell market is an awesome place to shop for locally-grown produce, freshly baked goods, handcrafted items, and more. The market will be open every Thursday, 3-6 PM, and Saturday, 9:30 AM-12 PM in Central Park. Customers can purchase market goods with cash, credit and debit cards, and SNAP benefits.
The Grinnell Farmers Market is sponsored by Grinnell Mutual, Unity Point Health — Grinnell, and Grinnell College.
Vendor Registration is Now Open!
The Grinnell Farmers Market is a 100% producer-grown or made market, meaning that all items for sale must be entirely grown or made by the vendor or immediate family members in the state of Iowa. For non-food items, the final product must be the vendor’s own creation or repurposed into a new creation. For example, a vendor who purchases store yarn may sell knitted sweaters only if they knit the sweater themselves.
All prospective vendors should review and acknowlege receipt of the 2026 Rules & Regulations and ensure eligibility prior to registration. Vendors are responsible for filing state sales tax permits where applicable. The online application will also ask vendors to indicate if they would like to participate in marketing and promotion materials before and throughout the season.
Questions about the process should be directed towards the Grinnell Chamber, 641-236-6555.

Good News! We Accept SNAP
The Grinnell Farmers Market accepts cash and token transactions — but most importantly, money from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) program! On the corner of Broad St. and 4th Ave., find a staff member with a card reader to purchase SNAP EBT tokens. SNAP tokens can be used to purchase:
- Fruits and vegetables
- Meat, fish, eggs and dairy products
- Honey and maple products
- Jams, jellies, pickles and sauces
- Baked goods
- Seeds and plants that produce food
SNAP benefits can not be used to purchase non-food items (like crafts, clothes, or flowers), and hot food items intended for immediate consumption at the market, such as hot coffee or prepared hot foods.
The Double Up Food Bucks (DUFB) program will continue for the 2026 season. Customers are able to earn DUFB when purchasing SNAP tokens or spend DUFB earned at Fareway for qualifying products at Market. Learn more on the DoubleUpIowa.org website.
