Community Calendar

On Thursday, July 25th at 10:00 AM, Drake Community Library will host a Dementia Friends Iowa event in the Community Room. This free, one-hour informational session provides an opportunity for attendees to learn about living with dementia and discover simple ways to support those affected by the disease.

No prior knowledge of dementia is needed. The session will be led by a Dementia Friends Champion. The session will cover basic knowledge about dementia, communication tips on how to effectively communicate with people who have dementia, community resources to support people living with dementia and their caregivers, as well as actions to support those with dementia.

 

 "This event aligns perfectly with our mission as an inclusive hub and strengthens community bonds. We encourage community members to attend and learn how we can support those affected by dementia.", stated Karen Neal, Library Director at Drake Community Library.
